I was contacted by Hilde, the lovely art director at Tidsskriftet (a peer-reviewed scientific journal for the Norwegian Medical Association) to create a cover image for them on breast cancer, specifically on oncoplastic breast conserving surgeries. What I really truly appreciated about this assignment was the brief that pointedly asked me to avoid the young, white, perfect breasts that are shown everywhere else. They wanted a patient who was at least 50. And of color. For a publication in Norway. And everything about that was awesome.
