Exosomes

August 22, 2019

These custom medical illustrations were done for a biotech company that came out of two schools, the school of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia (where I once worked) and from Augusta University (where I went to graduate school waaay back when it was still the Medical College of Georgia) It was great to work for a place that came out of two schools that are both so near and dear to me. This series shows the depiction of a neural exosome (a membrane bound extracellular vesicle)and it's origin, and conveys it's two important characteristics: the ability to cross the blood/brain barrier and it's infinity for neurons in the brain. This innovative company uses these cell free biologics for the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders.
